DANCE ON CAMERA

Tickets just went on sale for our Dance on Camera screening at Lincoln Center. The festival celebrates the immediacy of dance combined with the intimacy of film and features such films as Dancing Is Living: Benjamin Millepied and Desert Dancer. And this year, during the Dance on Camera Kickoff Gala, our own Elizabeth Streb will present Lois Greenfield with the Dance in Focus Award.

Greenfield was the preeminent dance photographer of the 1970s and 80s. Pairing Greenfield's freeze frame photography with Streb's action based choreography inspired a 20-year-long collaboration between the two artists. In Born to Fly, Streb even mentions that Greenfield's photography allowed her to see her work in a new light, inspiring her to push her choreography to new extremes.

Don't miss our screening February 1st at the Walter Reade Theater in New York, NY.

ATHENA FILM FESTIVAL

The Athena Film Festival, which highlights women and leadership in the film industry, will feature Born to Fly on February 8th at Barnard College in New York, NY. In addition to the screening, there will also be a panel discussion featuring Born to Fly cinematographer, Kirsten Johnson. She, along with two other female cinematographers, will discuss how they broke into the "private club" of cinematography and became some of the most in-demand names in the game.
